Obituary of Linda Carol James
It is with great sadness that the family of Linda James announces her passing after a long battle with cancer on September 23, 2018, at the age of 61 years. She was born in Anniston, Alabama on December 2, 1956. After her father left the service her family lived a short time in Chicago, Illinois and then moved to Memphis, TN, which she always called home. There, she attended Jackson Elementary, Gragg Junior High and Treadwell High Schools. She attended State Tech in Memphis after high school and went on to get multiple associates degrees later in life from TCC and OSU after moving to Tulsa in 1980.
Linda will be fondly remembered for her infectious laugh, her independence and her strong will. She was always outgoing and didn’t mind giving her opinion on most any subject whether the listener liked it or not. Linda loved the time she spent outdoors planting flowers and creating the most beautiful gardens and landscapes, and she had the most endearing words (we referred to them as Linda-isms) that brought smiles to anyone hearing them. Linda had a heart of gold and was so much fun to be around.
Linda will also be lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Greg, her children, Lindsay Rae (Chris), Hayley (Eric), Cassie (Mitchell) and Callan, and her little grandson, Dean. Linda will also be lovingly remembered by her mother, Lavell Sullivan, her sisters, Pattie and Doris (James), and her brother, Keith. Linda was predeceased by her father Harvey Sullivan of Hernado, MS.
A Life Celebration in memory of Linda will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29 at Ninde Funeral Home’s Brookside Chapel located at 3841 S. Peoria, Tulsa, OK 74105.
