Obituary of Colleen P. Bonner
Colleen Patricia Bonner was born November 1, 1925 in Tulsa to Jack and Chloteal Murtha. She passed from this life Thursday, March 14, 2019 also in Tulsa at the age of 93. Colleen graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas and settled in Tulsa with her husband, Charles B. “Charley” Bonner, Jr. to raise their family.
Colleen was a long-time member of the Boston Avenue Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who always provided a loving and comfortable home and was affectionately known as Memaw to her family and friends. She was the best Memaw ever. She cherished and loved her family and her family cherished and loved her. We celebrate the life she enjoyed and her plentiful love.
She loved to fish at Grand and Skiatook lakes and proudly boasted that she was the only one in the family with a fish big enough to mount. She loved to grow beautiful flowers, and she loved the Sooners. She loved to laugh and have a good time. She hosted many wonderful family gatherings and pool parties – preparing wonderful food and always keeping a close eye on her kids, grand kids, and great grand kids to be sure they had everything they needed. She was the owner of a fun loving and sometimes sassy personality that was with her until her last day.
She is survived by her children, Chloteal and Bob Cooper of Tulsa, Charlotte Jacobsen of Herriman, Utah, Bill and Susan Bonner of Tulsa, 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She has moved on to heaven to be with her Lord. “Hey Memaw, be sure and tell Granddad that we miss him too!” A special, grateful, and heartfelt thank you goes to the caregivers at the Senior Star – Arbors for loving and caring for her the last few years and thank you to Saint Francis Hospice for keeping her comfortable and peaceful at end of life.
