I was very saddened to have learned today of Danny’s passing. He and I were first cousins, his mom and my dad having been siblings. When I was seven years old, I spent the summer with the Morgan family during my dad’s illness. Danny’s parents, Aunt Lois and Uncle Ladson, were a second set of parents to me. Danny and his brothers, Lad and John, were all like older brothers to me. I loved them all dearly. Danny shared what I always thought of as Uncle Ladson’s personal mystique in that he was such a kind, gentle, caring, and quietly charismatic person. He went off to Vanderbilt and Memphis, and then to Oklahoma. I have remained in South Carolina. Over the years, after my dad’s passing, he and I lost contact. Thankfully, we reconnected for a period of time about two or three years ago via social media. I am thankful we did so. He was an honorable and decent man. His character was unassailable and his uprightness unquestioned. He will be missed. God’s peace, Danny. God’s peace.
I would very much like to make contact with the daughters. I can be reached at my email address.

I met Dan while doing my undergrad work. He was also our attorney for a company I had worked for in the past. He was the most encouraging person and was a good mentor for me during my undergrad studies. I learned of his passing today and wanted his family to know he was a person who touch many lives. Thanks Dan for everything you taught me. RIP

At least a decade ago I met Dan when he defended my client in an employment matter. We became friends and when I visited Fort Morgan in Alabama I bought a tee shirt for him. He was a great attorney and a wonderful person.

I had the pleasure of working with Dan for a few years at GableGotwals. He was always thoughtful, friendly and kind. And he marched to the beat of his own drummer, which I admired. My heartfelt condolences on his passing from this life.

I am so very sorry to hear of Dan’s passing today. Dan was an important person to me at a terrible time in my life professionally, and his help gave me the will and hope to keep going when it would have been very easy to give up. Because of him, I have my company today, and I have always greatly appreciated his kindness to me. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and I know how much he loved his family! He always had the biggest smile when he talked about his girls and being a grandfather. Prayers for all of you as you navigate this difficult time in your lives.

Dan was a fine man. I remember him in college as someone who was smart, fun, honorable, loyal to his friends, and kind-hearted. I’ll miss knowing he is still here with us but celebrate his life and hope to see him again one day, God willing. I offer my deepest condolences to Jennifer and Jocelyn, and others in Dan’s family.

My heart is broken! Dan was not only a great dad to his two girls but he was a great lawyer. I felt blessed to have worked for Dan for several years when he was with GableGotwals. I will never forget the day when he came to me and asked me if I would be his secretary. He taught me everything I knew about employment law and did so with such kindness. He was funny, kind, soft spoken, honest and truly a friend to me. We had some fun times. I attended my first trial with Dan from picking the jury to the final day in court. Yes, he was a great one and I am so proud I can say I was his secretary for several years. I pray for his family and his girls as they go forward each day without their dad. I am truly heart broke. Heaven got a great one! Rest in peace my friend.

Dan was always a professional, but he was also a warm and engaging person. His counsel was sound, and our conversations benefited from his wisdom and ability to find humor in any problem posed. I am privileged to have been able to rely on Dan's advice and counsel. I will miss him. My condolences to his daughters, grandson, and family.

Dan was a great attorney, conscientious, hard working, and ethical beyond question. More importantly, Dan was a good man. I am blessed to have known and worked with him. In my last visit recently with Dan, though very weak at the time, Dan beamed with pride and love over his daughters and grandson. I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss Dan dearly as will many others who were blessed by knowing such a good man.
