Obituary of Rev.Robert Hidde
Please share a memory of Rev.Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dr. Reverend Robert D. Hidde walked into heaven (through the garden gates) and into his Father's presence on Friday, March 15, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family will receive visitors on Monday evening from 5 to 7 at Ninde Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00am at Northside Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. Following the service, there will be a committal service for his earthly body at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bob Hidde was born on October 23, 1950 to Robert and Nadine Hidde in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1968 and went on to obtain his Doctorate in Sacred Theology at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. On July 3, 1969, he married the love of his life, Vicki Reynolds. They welcomed the apple of his eye, daughter Leah, on August 6, 1971.
Bob answered God's call to ministry and began preaching at the age of 15. He served as a Free Will Baptist pastor for over 40 years. Churches he served included First Free Will Baptist in Tulsa, West Tulsa Free Will Baptist in Tulsa, Madison Avenue Free Will Baptist in Tulsa, Rose Hill Free Will Baptist in Monticello, Ark, Ballews Chapel Free Will Baptist in Grubbs, Ark, and most currently, Northside Free Will Baptist in Broken Arrow. He believed in being prepared for ministry at a moment's notice. For this reason, he was the only man on the bowling league that bowled in a suit. He continued to serve God and God's people until the day he passed away.
Pastor Hidde was in ministry as the on-call chaplain for Ninde Funeral Home for 25 years, ministering to thousands of Tulsa families and beyond. Since 1999, he was the Managing Trustee for Memorial Park Cemetery. He was proud to have served as the Moderator for the Tulsa Free Will Baptist Association and sat on the Credential Boards. He was the past President for the Oklahoma Personnel Consultants. He was also a proud member of the Tulsa Mens Club, the Tulsa Summit Club and the University of Arkansas Alumni Association.
Along with his wife, Vicki, he owned and worked in their career development business, Resume Source, Inc., helping thousands of people and companies around the United States.
He is survived by the love of his life for 43 years, Vicki; daughter, Reverend Leah Hidde-Gregory and husband, Stan Gregory; grandchildren, Maddie, Caroline and Will; and a host of Christian brothers and sisters he was proud to call friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nadine Hidde.
If you wish to make a contribution in Bob's honor, the family requests it be made to Welch College, 3606 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN 37205.
