Obituary of Patsy Kay Hoover

Patsy Kay (Nichols) Hoover was born June 24, 1947 to Emmette & Carrie (Sword) Nichols in Farmington, NM and passed from this life surrounded by family on August 6, 2019 at the age of 72.

In 1965, after four years of courtship, Patsy married Larry Hoover and began a 54 year journey with love and companionship. Their love would culminate into two children, Darren and Carman. They raised their beautiful family in Tulsa for 20 years. Years filled with swimming in the backyard pool, running around the house playing games, sitting on the back porch watching the rain come down, and being a family that grew together despite any struggle placed in their path. Patsy would eventually give up the city life and retire from a life of customer service and move to Lake Tenkiller. Her life only blossomed from there. Patsy and Larry would spend their life almost an hour away but closer than ever to family. Each weekend was used to perfect some aspect of the home to benefit a large incoming family for the weekend. She always had a good idea, a never-ending task for Larry. While family gathered on most weekends and summers, Patsy was still able to find her quiet time here and there. She enjoyed watching her sports. If it wasn't basketball or football, it was NASCAR. She would not sit quietly either. If they weren't playing to par she would always let them know by yelling loud enough for them to hear through the television. Patsy was full of passion and full of life. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother, and the best card player the grandchildren have ever seen. Her family will miss her very much, but the memories she created will survive in the hearts of all her loved ones forever.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Clayton Nichols; and her sister, Elta Mae Nichols.   She is survived by her husband, Larry Gene Hoover; her son and his wife, Darren & Sharon Hoover; her daughter and her husband, Carman Kay & Tray Riggs; her brother, Bill Nichols; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren with another on the way.
