Walter and Florence Clare became the pastor and family of the First Baptist Church in Nickerson, Ks. around 1961-62 when I was a teenager. They were hard working, and so genuine. They would come to our humble home on Sunday evenings for dessert often. My Dad was a quiet, unassuming man, but Walter could engage anyone in conversation. They worked very hard to form and organize teen activities. Jim, Danny and Janet were all great kids. We missed them as a family, when they relocated.
