From our first meeting when Daryl joined the Guard I found him to
be personable, according to the situation, he would be serious or
humorous. I noticed when Daryl was speaking with other pilots
they listened. I didn’t realize early on he had such a vast amount
of experience. I was NCOIC of Group Intelligence. He was a
leader. Leadership skills were shown as President of the Silver
Beavers. Speaking from experience the job requires more than
one might anticipate. When a man is well grounded in his faith,
like Daryl, the difficulties in life become challenges. Yes, as friends we grieve but we also know his memory is ingrained in
our hearts and minds for as long as we share this planet.
