Please share a memory of Delbert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Delbert Monroe O’Neal was born on May 26, 1943 in Bartlesville, OK to Delbert Floyd O’Neal and Letta Mae (Franks) O’Neal. Delbert passed from this life on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the age of 76.
Delbert graduated from the Oklahoma State School of Technology in Okmulgee with a drafting degree while his newly wed wife, Arleta, earned her PhT – pushing hubbie through. After graduating, he worked for Con-Rad Industries as a draftsman and then estimator for 19 years. He continued his career as an estimator for three years at Fabsco; ending his career working for Superior Hard-Surfacing.
Delbert was an avid fisherman and found great pleasure in landing the “big fish, pretty fish”. He was a member of Sand Springs Sportsman Club. He loved the outdoors along with hunting and camping with friends and family. He was also a great cook and a master of a smoker. Large family gatherings weren’t complete until Delbert showed up with the smoked ham or turkey and usually both. He also grilled a mean burger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael O’Neal. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arleta; 2 daughters, Linda Harrelson, and her husband, Ken, and Laurie Wilkens; 2 brothers, Tim O’Neal and his wife, Ellen, and Daniel O’Neal and his wife, Brennis; 3 grandchildren: Jordan Shock and her husband, Jack, Raven Mize and her husband, Michael and Timber Wilkens and 3 great-grandchildren, Emory and Oliver Shock and Grayson Wilkens.
