Ramola Rennie was born April 20, 1932 in Hayes, KS to Herbert and Bertha (Strecker) Deines of Russell, KS. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 after bravely battling cancer for a full year after her initial diagnosis. She graduated from Russell High School with the class of 1950. Two years later she met and married the love of her life, Preston George Rennie.
In the 1950's their family grew to include their son, Joel Craig Rennie and daughter, Julia Lynn Rennie. Preston was a young petroleum engineer for Sohio Petroleum, whose fast track career would keep them moving from Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma, all the way to Alaska. In addition to being an amazing wife and loving mother, Ramola was the consummate decorator, homemaker and entertainer. At each new home, she would quickly put her talents to work for the enjoyment of their friends and family. Later in her life, Ramola channeled all of her creative gifts into floral design and became a well known and highly respected florist in the Houston area.
Ramola was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Preston and her older sister, Shirley Ayres of Russell, KS. She is survived by her son, Joel Rennie of Tulsa, OK, her daughter, Julia Rennie Allen and husband Jeff of Jenks, OK; her grandson, Taylor Rennie Allen and his wife Lauryn of Winter Garden, FL and her granddaughter, Rebecca Kathleen Allen of Auburn, AL. Ramola is also survived by her beloved twin sister, Ramona Deines Allison and husband, Robert of Houston, TX. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful cousin and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. To the end of her life, Ramola never tired in her constant concern for the happiness and well-being of others. She will be greatly missed by those that she loved and care for.
At a later date, the family will travel to Pauls Valley, OK where the remains of Ramola and Preston will be scattered upon their grave sites. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in Ramola's memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Oklahoma, 500 N. Broadway, Suite 250, Oklahoma City, OK 73102 or St. Francis Hospice, 6600 S.
