Obituary of William Wayne Bowling

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William Wayne Bowling was born November 27, 1954 in Tulsa, OK to Tom Harrison Bowling & Shirley Mae (Haag) Bowling and passed from this life on December 6, 2020 at the age of 66. Bill was an adventurous spirit, who loved to hunt, camp, and scuba dive. He enlisted in the Army in 1981 and was certified to become a utility helicopter repairman; he was also awarded with an Army Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Badge with Hand Grenade Bar, Sharpshooter Badge with M16 Rifle, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, and Aircraft Crewmember Badge. Bill went on to establish a successful insurance practice, specializing in Medicare, and often offered Pro Bono counseling to those in need. He was generous to a fault, willing to help all, and had a dry sense of humor. Bill had a love for animals, as seen by the cats he adopted. He will be missed by many but forgotten by none. Preceded in death by his parents, Bill is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Yvonne Mitchell and his sister, Sally Harbeson of Dallas, TX, as well as Skeeter, his constant companion and rescue cat. Yvonne fondly recalls Bill always loved going to Eureka Springs, AR and eating at Rogues Manor and staying downtown and shopping at the little shops. He is in heaven playing with Bobby Joe, Missy and Sally. He leaves behind his current pets Chloe and Skeeter. Private family services will be held and his final resting place will be at the Pryor Fairview Cemetery in Pryor, OK. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Bill’s honor to: H.O.W. Foundation, 5649 S. Garnett Road, Tulsa, OK 74146 or Folds of Honor, 5800 N. Patriot Drive, Owasso, OK 74055.
