Helen Louise Moncrief was born June 25, 1925 between Broken Arrow and Bixby Oklahoma to Ora Cecil & Opal Eula (Ogle) Perkins and passed from this life on May 2, 2013 at the age of 87.
Helen had much pride in her occupation as a wife and mother, and grandmother and would put that at her top priority in helping or just visiting and being with her children, grandchildren, and, recently, great grand-children.
After finishing high school at Bixby, she worked at McDonald -Douglas on the flight-line during end of World War II, first as a riveter, then moved into office work till the plant closed. Later, after her children were older, she worked in part-time positions at as a clerk and station manager for dry-cleaners in Tulsa.
Her main hobbies and passions were bargain finding. She loved going out on garage-sale days finding the best bargains and having her own garage sales. Another passion and enjoyed activity was camping with the family, often inviting other relatives, cooking over the campfire, which was the main family vacation celebrated yearly. One of her achievements was learning to drive in her late forties, which ended up helping her to be very independent up to the time of her illness.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Coy Edgar Moncrief. She is survived by daughters Carol L. Economus, Sandra Bales and Linda R. Jouppi; her brothers, Robert Gerald Perkins and Ora Cecil Perkins, Jr.; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
