Obituary of James Major Jackson

James Major Jackson was born June 14, 1937 in Porter, OK to Major and Emma C. (Marshall) Jackson and passed from this life on March 29, 2021 at the age of 83. James had a strong work ethic that bled through everything he did. Started his own janitorial service with himself as the only employee and grew to the point he purchased a Jani-King Janitorial service that employed others. In addition he worked for Meeks Furniture for years, befriending the owner’s family and maintaining the relationships he accrued during his career. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. James is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Andrew Jackson. He is survived by his children, Shannon Jackson, Angela Scarborough, Ricky (Marie) Mason; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. James will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2021 at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Sperry, OK.
