Mom (Mimi) passed at 93 years young into the presence of Jesus on the morning of April 17, 2021 at 6:30 A.M. with family singing and stroking her face and hair. She suffered a severe stroke while attending an Easter dinner with family. Gloria was born September 30, 1927 in Purcell, OK to George and Leona Helterbrand. She moved with her family to McAlester, OK at the age of 14 and graduated from McAlester HS. She was the last surviving sibling of seven wonderful brothers and sisters. Mom was very giving, caring and loving soul. She was active in a myriad of activities in Tulsa and Elk City, include the Red Glove Review and a Literacy volunteer, opera costumes, Red Cross, Toastmasters, Past President of Kiwanitas, Docent at Philbrook, volunteer for the Miss Oklahoma Pagent, Meals on Wheels, member of several committees at Montereau. Mom also popped a lot of popcorn on movie night at Montereau. She retired from Sun Oil Company, working in the downtown office building. Gloria was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and loved her family with passion and grace. Gloria married Darrell Hefley on January 1, 1948 and had 3 sons, David, Steven and Robert. Spouses Carla, Charleen and Eric. Grandchildren Darren, Jason, Briana and Afton. Great Grandkids Aiden, Andrew, Jenna, Rio and Minerva. Darrell passed in 1977 and Mom married Harold Wehrenberg in 1986 and had 17 wonderful years until Harold passing in 2002. There were some rough times in our family early on and Mom was always the solid rock that held us together. She loved her family with a passion and we will miss her tremendously. Visitation Thursday 5-7 PM at Ninde Funeral 3841 S. Peoria Tulsa. Funeral service Friday 10 AM at same location. Burial at Calvary Cemetery Tulsa.
