Please share a memory of Wavie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wavie Cecelia Thomas was born on November 22, 1937 in Sentobia, Mississippi to Joe Coppage and Melissa Humphries. On Monday, November 22, 2021 Wavie passed from this life at St. Francis Hospital on her 84th birthday surrounded by family. She grew up to become a loving, caring person who never knew a stranger, the type of person with laughter that warmed people’s hearts. She married in 1954 and moved to Memphis, TN where she had 7 children and continued to make it her mission to take care of any person who needed a hand, always the first to help, and last to judge. In later years, Wavie Thomas moved to Tulsa, OK where she dedicated her life to the Lord, at Living Water Teaching Church. She grew furthermore as a person, a mother, a grandmother and as a friend whose smile was known to light up the room. Wavie was loved by all her family and anyone she came in contact with. Now she continues to smile in heaven with her Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her 5 daughters, Jeanette Ching of Broken Arrow, OK, Charlotte Carter, of Tulsa, OK, Jacqueline Green of Memphis, TN, Karen Tolliver of Tulsa, OK and Rita Campbell of Memphis, TN; 2 sons, Anthony Thomas and Treadwell Thomas both of Hall, TN; grandchildren: Melvin Matthews, Kisha Ching, Tonya Ching, Terri Deleon, Marcus Toliver, Jermaine Toliver, Jamil Toliver , Katura Toliver, Denise Toliver, Adrian Thomas, Brandy Thomas, Brian Thomas, Karen Thomas, Montrail Campbell, Jermaine Stevenson and James Stevenson; and a host of great grandchildren.
