Velma Luella Smith was born January 18, 1956 in Tulsa, OK to Dr. Norval Ross Smith and Margaret Katherine (Gregg) Smith and passed from this life on July 14, 2022 at the age of 66.

Velma was born and raised in Tulsa. She graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1974. She attended John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR and ORU in Tulsa. Velma enjoyed her church, friends, family and her 2 cats, Missy and Thomas Junior, (TJ).

Preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Katherine Smith and her step mother, Elizabeth (Wilson) Smith. Velma is survived by her father; her brother and his partner, Dr. Gregg Smith & Kevin Burleson; her step sisters and their spouses, Cathy & Dr. Larry Sears and Robin & Gary Freeman; her step brother, Mike Wood; and step nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 22 at Ninde Brookside Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
