Obituary of Alice Stevens

Alice Janet (Cardwell) Stevens was born June 7, 1934 in Douglas County, MO to Jason & Julia (Longwith) Cardwell and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was welcomed into the gates of heaven and into the loving arms of her family and friends on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the age of 79.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was married to the love of her life for 40 years, James Harold Stevens who preceded her in death. She was co-owner of Stevens Office Equipment and a caregiver who touched many lives with compassion in her heart. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Trinity United Methodist Women (UMW) since 1958 and a member of Tulsa District UMW and Church Women United.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Frances McManus; her sister, Peggy Seaman; her brother, Lloyd Cardwell; her best friends whom she shared many lunches, excursions and late night telephone conversations with, Bettye Self and Wauhillau Brown and other extended family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Stevens of Tulsa, OK; her sister, Josie Eubanks of Latonia, KY; her grandson, John Capps; several great grandchildren and extended family and friends.
A warm heartfelt Thank You goes to Alice's special nurse/angel, Jeff Williams, whose kindness, compassion, gentleness, honesty, friendship and extraordinary dedication to his profession will never be forgotten.
Carol would also like to "Thank" Melanie Cooper (DON); the nursing staff and the staff of Serenity Hospice for the care Alice received while a resident at Ambassador Manor Nursing Center, as well as all of her co-workers at Cimarex for the many years of moral support they provided during her illness.
