Obituary of Nancy Adair McCormack Young
Lifelong Tulsan, Nancy Adair McCormack Young, died peacefully at home surrounded by her 3 children, Saturday, February 25, 2023. She was 77. She was born August 29, 1945, at St. John’s Hospital. Nancy attentended Lee Elementary, Edison High School (class of 63) and Stephen’s Women’s College. Nancy served on the Altar Guild at Trinity Episcopal Church, The Women’s Association of Tulsa Boys’ Home, and was a member of Executive Women’s International.
Above all else, Nancy valued her family and friendships. She was fiercely loyal, loving and never forgot a special occasion. She loved celebrating life! She also loved to travel and had a great love for the arts, especially music.
Nancy was extremely passionate about Tulsa and preserving its history through her stories and her family's photographs. She worked side by side with her parents and brother for most of her life, keeping Bob McCormack Photography a staple in Tulsa history.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth (Betty) and Robert (Bob) McCormack; and her husband Gary Young. She is survived by her brother, John McCormack (Diane Ruggles), her children Ashley Balch MacKenna, Jonathan Balch (Candace Holmes) and Katherine Stickle Sokolosky (Dustin Sokolosky), and seven grandchildren Elizabeth (23), Mack (21), Mary Kate (19), Caroline (16), Harrison (13), Henry (12) and Stella (9).
Nancy was deeply grateful for the love and support for those who cared for her and who became a part of the extended family and for the exceptional care from Season’s Hospice.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 501 South Cincinnati Ave., Tulsa, OK.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Oklahoma or Trinity Episcopal Church.
