Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Janet Eileen Lancaster passed away peacefully at Saint Francis Hospital after succumbing to COVID on March 7, 2023 with her daughter holding her hand and reading scriptures at her bedside.

Janet was born July 24, 1946 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She was the only child of Charles and Nora Lancaster. She attended Charles Page High School and graduated in the class of 1964.

She was a professionally-trained soprano. One of her favorite memories was having the opportunity to sing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” with the song’s co-writer, Ralph Blane, in the audience. She loved to sing, garden, cook and entertain. She had many friends and was a well-loved member at her church. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and boisterous laugh.

Janet married Michael Joseph Neal in 1974. Four years later, they adopted their daughter from Seoul, Korea through Dillion International.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Tim Gilpin of Tulsa, her beloved dog, Mr. Darcy, and many cherished cousins who she stayed in close contact.

Janet’s funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 13 at Ninde Brookside Chapel, 39th and South Peoria Ave. She will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Cemetery next to her parents.
