Marcheta was my beloved first cousin, significant in my life from the beginning. She was my mom, Mary Louise's, Maid of Honor at her wedding and confidant. We celebrated family Christmas Eve & July 4th together for over 50 years. Marcheta lived by the highest standards, generously sharing her time, gifts of music, teaching and spiritual inspiration, steadfast in devoting financial resources to the church and orphan's home. She was a loving niece/sister to my father, close when John D. lived with them as a young man, and kind and helpful to him as he aged. Marcheta always supported her family and friends with positive words, and by opening her home and heart. The world is a better place for her contributions and all who knew her will sorely miss her beautiful soul. Much love to dear cousins, Meredith & Brion and their children. May Marcheta's memory be a blessing.

Marcheta was one of my favorite relatives. Always enjoyed being a part of any holiday function where Marcheta would be present because she was so gracious and kind to the kids. She made Christmas more fun with her piano accompaniment to our carols. When I learned that she was active in Christian organizations, it made me more interested in getting involved myself. My mom, Winona, always had a soft spot in her heart for Marcheta from the days they attended college together to the day at church when she introduced mom to her Uncle Willis, my future father. Marcheta will be missed by all those she influenced, including me.

I was 7 months old when Ray and Marcheta married. She was always one of my favorite aunts. When we got older, Mark and I would spend a week with them and the kids in Tulsa. Marcheta took that opportunity to give Mark and I piano lessons. Bless her heart try as she might, I never learned to play. Mark caught on and could play a tune or two, however, I think I nailed Chop sticks and not the extended version. But that as it. She really did try. I love her and miss her. Sheryl

I met Marcheta in the last couple of years when she had moved to assisted living. What an elegant, gracious lady. When visiting with her, she wanted to hear about me and my family and enjoyed sharing about her life as well. Each time I visited with her, even if was an unexpected drop in visit, she was dressed as she was ready to go to church or out and about. Neatly groomed with jewelry and often a nice scarf around her neck. A wonderful role model for women of all ages.
I’m so thankful to have met and known her.

We met Marcheta in 1974 when we moved to Tulsa. We were always impressed by her thoughtfulness, energy, and kindness. We'll most remember her friendship with our parents when they retired in Tulsa in 1984. Our sympathy to the family.

When my husband and I were married in August 1963, we hid our car at their house. I have known her since childhood. My parents were Bob and Adabelle Steele. She was a very special lady! I’m so sorry for this loss
