Obituary of Dennis George Vance

Dennis George Vance was born July 8, 1932, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jesse George Vance and Gladys May (Michael) Vance and passed from this life on August 5, 2023, at the age of 91.

He owned and operated a successful Phillips 66 service station at 61st and Sheridan in Tulsa for many years. He also owned and operated the “SUZANNE” Apartments near 11th and Mingo.  Dennis loved his family very dearly and, in turn, was loved by all his brothers and sisters, children and grandchildren. He was an exceptional person and gave generously to all the family who needed it.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; Jesse and Gladys Vance; his wives, Bonnie Willis, Suzanne Pretz Vance and Mary Katherine Deal Vance; his brothers, Jesse (June) Vance, Jr., Ernie Vance, and Johnny Vance.  Dennis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Laurie Vance; his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Steve Clyburn; his stepchildren, Kirk Martin and Cydney Walvoord, and Rebecca Parkhurst, Ramona Gaddis, Ruth Perry and Robin Webb. He is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy Vance and Clifford Vance; and his sister, Betty Rhyne; his, grandchildren, Stephanie Brewer, Shannon Galvan, Royce Clyburn, Ryan Brosnan and Stephen Jacob Vance. In addition there are numerous other extended family members, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren and he loved each one.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel and he will be laid to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery Columbarium.
