Patrick Wilson

Obituary of Patrick Wilson

Please share a memory of Patrick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Patrick Wilson, 55, sadly passed away on September 12, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Patrick is survived by his wife of 12 years, Emily, and his three children: Chad (16), Ellie (10) and Graham (6). He is also survived by his father, Ted and his wife Jan as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins across Oklahoma and Kentucky.

Patrick was born in Rantoul, Illinois to Ted George Wilson and Annis Joy Wilson on August 14, 1968. He spent his elementary school years between Murray, Kentucky and Paducah, Kentucky. He was a little boy that loved baseball, his little brother, and riding his bike. You could often read about his success on the baseball field in the local newspaper. Some would say it didn’t hurt that his Uncle Tony was the Sports Editor, but the statistics backed him up.

Patrick’s family relocated to Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1982. He went to high school at Hilldale and was a basketball star, or perhaps it would be called a “hotshot,” on the high school team. After high school Patrick attended Oklahoma State University where he majored in Sports Broadcasting & Journalism.

Patrick was no stranger to loss. He lost his mother to breast cancer in 1985. And shortly after he graduated from OSU, he lost his brother to cancer in 1994. Those losses, though devastating, turned Patrick into the solid, caring, and resilient man he was known to be.

Patrick went back to OSU for a second degree in Political Science and remained in Tulsa after to pursue a law degree. But God had other plans for Patrick. He eventually found his way to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar where he met his wife and so many of those who remain his closest friends to this day. Patrick worked at Fleming’s for 17 years before finding his true passion working in medical sales. He recently had the privilege of working for Beckton Dickson, a Fortune 500 company, as a Regional Sales Manager, and he absolutely loved it.

Patrick’s favorite past times were enjoying a round of golf with his dad, spending quality time with his wife, family & friends, listening to Dan Patrick & NFL football, and his fantasy football league (of which he was two-time champion). Patrick will be remembered as a man of true character. His humor was unmatched. His patience was steady. His faith was strong. And, most importantly: his love was pure.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church downtown on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the children’s education fund which can be made through Merrill Lynch at 6100 S. Yale Avenue, Suite 1500, Tulsa, OK 74136 c/o Matt Monger.
