Obituary of Ted Manners

Ted M. Manners was born February 9, 1923 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Thomas Edgar and Maude (Dill) Manners Wickham. He passed from this life Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Tulsa at the age of 88. He graduated from Pryor High School before serving in the Navy during World War II. He attended Oklahoma A&M prior to taking a position as an accountant with Southwestern Power Administration. Ted retired from SWPA and went to work with the office of the Tulsa County Assessor where he worked until he retired again in 1990. Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Lee (Belford) Manners on June 3, 2007. He was also preceded by his brothers, Gerald and Jim Manners and his sister, Tennessee Ross. Ted is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Steve Jelley of Tulsa; son, Mark Manners of Broken Arrow, OK and two grandsons, Brendon and Garrett Jelley, both of Tulsa. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Boston Avenue Methodist Church in the Rose Chapel. A graveside committal will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in Ted's memory to Boston Avenue Methodist Church, 1301 S Boston Ave., Tulsa, OK 74119.
