Obituary of Janice Howard

Kathryn "Janice" Howard, formerly of Borger, went to be with the Lord, her beloved husband and her son, on Friday, September 6, 2013 after a month long stay in a Tulsa hospital. Janice was born March 27, 1923 in Quanah, TX. She was a resident of Borger, TX since 1941, until moving to Sand Springs, OK in 2008 to be near her daughter & family. She retired from J.C. Penney's after 40 years of employment. Recently she celebrated her 90th birthday in Borger, her wish, with her abundance of friends. Until her passing, Janice remained full of life, faithful to God, selfless, compassionate, giving, loving and always maintaining that contagious smile and wonderful sense of humor. Even in the hospital she continued to gather love & friendships from all who cared for her as they recognized the goodness in her smile and heart. She made an impact, one way or the other, in the life of everyone she met. She is preceded in death by her husband, Iva Jay Howard, with whom she was married to for 63 years; a son, Stanley Jay Howard; 3 brothers, Bill, Kenneth and Gorman Gibson. Janice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debi and John Saied of Grand Lake, OK; 5 grandchildren, Chris, Doug, Johnny, Jennifer and Vanessa; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
