Obituary of Bruce Borum

Bruce Borum was born on August 8, 1949 in Checotah, OK to Leon and Mary Borum. He passed from this life on September 6, 2013 at the age of 64. His young life was carefree and fun with lots of relatives. His family moved to the country at age 14 and he enjoyed riding his motor scooter down the country roads. In 1967 he graduated from Broken Arrow High School. In 1971 he received his BS degree from OSU in Business Administration. After beginning his service in the Air National Guard, he began his lifelong career in insurance claims. For the last several years he was employed by Equity Insurance Company as a claims supervisor and greatly enjoyed his work. He married Marcia Weems in 1976. His high goal was to raise his family to love others and to have wisdom and holiness. In 1978 he began teaching in his church and continued teaching in small and large groups all his life. He was also able to teach in foreign countries, such as his month long class of 400 bible students in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1992. He also went on short mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala and Dominican Republic. His whole family participated with him for 13 years in his ministry to disadvantaged children. He was a born leader and loved telling stories. His greatly loved family includes his wife, Marcia, daughters, Melinda Curren and Melody Borum, son, the late Brandon Borum, son-in-law, Zachary Curren, grandson, Henry Curren, parents, Mary Borum and the late Leon Borum, and brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Pat Borum.
