Beverly Jean Duncan was born in Tulsa, OK on July 21, 1946. She was the first born of six children to the late Titus Eutaliford Duncan and Lavada Mildred (Pitts) Duncan. Beverly passed from this life in Edmond, OK surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the age of 67.
Beverly attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington in 1946. She furthered her education with 2 years of community college. Beverly enrolled and graduated from Job Corp. in Ohio. Upon graduation she moved to Massachusetts to begin her career. While residing in Massachusetts she gave birth to two beautiful children, Kenneth and Teresa Duncan.
Beverly returned home to Tulsa, OK where she spent the majority of her career in the hotel industry. In 2011 Beverly retired from the Radisson Hotel as a PBX operator.
Beverly accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. In 2011, Beverly moved to Oklahoma City to spend time with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. During this time Beverly had the opportunity to complete her bucket list, which was to visit the Potter House in Dallas, TX and travel to visit relatives in California, Atlanta and South Carolina.
Beverly was a member of 5th Street Missionary Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK. She was a beautiful woman with an amazing spirit and will be greatly missed.
Beverly leaves to celebrate her life, her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Sonja Duncan of Tulsa, OK; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Monray Goggins of Edmond, OK; 5 grandchildren, Shauntel Johnson, the late Jamal Smith, Kenneth Duncan Jr., Faith and Joshua Goggins. 2 great grandchildren, Naomi and Cyttnei Cobbs; 3 sisters, Merrilyn (Willard) Frierson of Tulsa, OK, Delphine Dorsey of Oklahoma City, OK and Janette (Walter) Thompson of Tulsa, OK; 2 brothers, Eugene (Sonnia) Duncan of Ft. Smith, AR and Titus Duncan of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
