Obituary of Darell Fortney

Darrell Bruce Fortney, age 60 of Tulsa passed away, Monday evening, November 25, 2013. Bruce was born in Tulsa on November 2, 1953 to Bruce D. Fortney and Virginia Lee (Ginger) Fortney. Darell married Mavis Louis Land on May 17, 1980 and were married 33 years. Darell was a member of Delta Masonic Lodge, Tulsa Scottish Rite, Akdar Shrine, Sabba Grotto, Tulsa Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Darell also held a held a dual membership at John Calvin Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa. Darell is survived by his wife, Mavis L. Fortney of the home, his mother, Virginia L. Fortney, a brother, Dallas Leroy Fortney and wife Gloria of Tulsa, Nephews, Brent Dallas Fortney of Tulsa, Stephen Alan Land and wife, Heather of Ochelata, Ok,. Great nephews Rodger and Brent Fortney of Tulsa, father in law, Malvis Lance Land and wife Alberta S. Land of Ochelata, Ok, brother in law, Alan Lance Land and wife Rita also of Ochelata, Ok. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce D. Fortney and his nephew, Samuel Lance Land. Darell was loved by all who knew him, family and many many friends. The family has asked that memorials in his name be made to the Akdar Transportation Fund, 2808 S. Sheridan, Tulsa, OK 74129
