Obituary of Robert Allen

Robert W. (Bob) Allen passed from this life on February 27, 2014. Born in Wichita, KS on August 31, 1921 to Howard W. Allen & Lenore (Amick) Allen, he is survived by his wife Jacqueline Brown Allen of 67 years, four sons, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a loyal friend to many.
After graduating from Tulsa Central High School at age sixteen he attended the University of Oklahoma where he obtained his bachelor's degree in business. After college he joined the Navy and attended mid-shipman's school before shipping out aboard the USS Harris bound for the south Pacific during WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star. Toward the end of the war while at flight training school in Dallas he met the love of his life Jacqueline Brown. They married on November 2, 1946.
An active businessman, he was the owner of M.K. & O. Coach Lines and operated the city transit system for many years. Bob also lent his business talents to the boards of directors of several businesses, associations, and non-profits both nationally and in the Tulsa area.
His memory is cherished by his wife Jacqueline, his sons Wesley, John & wife Diane, Philip & wife Julianne, Andrew & his wife Sheri, as well as their children and grandchildren.
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa, OK at 3pm on Tuesday, March 4. He will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
