Obituary of Patricia Mitchell
Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia Ann Mitchell was born on June 29, 1937 in Tulsa, OK to Harold and Margaret (Mowat) Dunn. Pat passed from this life on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the age of 76.
Pat graduated from Tulsa Central High School and attended Baylor University School of Dentistry where she earned her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. She was dedicated to her patients and respective Tulsa practices for 30 years.
Pat was a giving person and an open soul. She was a devoted daughter and caregiver for her 101 year-old mother, a loving and attentive wife and partner for 45 years. She was a caring, thoughtful and encouraging mother and a supportive, loyal and trusted friend. She took solace in caring for her mother, friends, family and pets.
Her devotion to charitable organizations was a source of light for so many. Pat was a humanitarian; compassionate and giving through her volunteer association with the Tulsa Community Food Bank, John 3:16, Gilcrease Museum and working alongside area dentists providing free dental care to those who wouldn't receive such hygiene and treatment otherwise. Pat had a fondness for the Save the Elephants Foundation as well as other animal wildlife sanctuaries.
Her quest for enlightenment was inspirational to all. Pat found a sense of creativity through sketching and watercolor. She said yellow was her favorite color. It was bright, clean, and warm.
She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband David; her daughter, Megan Mitchell, both of Tulsa; a stepson, Robert Mitchell and his wife, Laura, of Phoenix, AZ and 3 grandchildren, Amelia, Elliott and Charlotte Mitchell.
Memorial service 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 27th at the Ninde Brookside Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tulsa Community Food Bank, 1304 N. Kenosha Ave., Tulsa, OK 74106.
Patricia would be filled with love and admiration for all of the people who have graciously gathered in her remembrance. She would hug and thank you all. She is with her pets now.
