Obituary of Barbara Griffin

Barbara Jean (Waffle) Griffin was born February 22, 1937 in Pawhuska, OK to James Franklin & Helen (Smith) Waffle and died on March 26, 2014 in Jennings, OK at the age of 77. Barbara worked at Zebco for 30+ years, starting out on the line assembling the rods, and moved into the marketing department. Barbara loved to take trips with her friends and family to sight-see and gamble. She also could regularly be found at her grandchildren's sporting events cheering loudly for the whole team. Barbara always went out of her way to help everyone around her. A devoted wife to Alvin, they could always be found side by side. She was a true fighter; she had battled cancer off and on for some 30+ years. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Derl Waffle. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alvin L. Griffin; her sons and daughter-in-laws, Don & Debbie Griffin, Ron & Paula Griffin and Mike & Kim Griffin; her sister, Derlene Bello; her brother, James Waffle; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Barbara will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.
