Doris Ann Phillips was born April 7, 1922 in Topeka, KS to Harry McCune and Edith Matilda (Figley) Ashton. She passed from this life Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the age of 85.
The family moved to Tulsa in the early 1930's. Doris attended Barnard Elementary School and graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1940. She met Alfred "Al" Phillips and they were married June 29, 1941 in Tulsa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Joyner Sunday School for more than 60 years.
Doris is survived by her husband of 65 years, Al, of the home; daughters, Karen Randall and Jan Phillips; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Beverly Phillips; grandchildren, David and his wife, Liz, Scott and his wife, Kristen, Ryan and Jenny; great grandson, Blake; sisters, Lucille McNutt and Lois Stiver; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Lynn Ashton; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in her memory to First Methodist Church, 1115 S. Boulder Ave., Tulsa, OK 74119.
