Dallas White, 88, of Tulsa, OK, died 5-26-07 after a short illness. Dallas was born 2-11-1919 in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Ora Della Lamberson and Ralph Allen White. He lived in Tulsa almost his entire life and was a child of the Great Depression. He was proud of his working as a paper-boy for the Tulsa Tribune to support his mother and brother during that period. He attended Cleveland Junior High and graduated from Tulsa Central High School and the Oklahoma School of Accountancy, Law and Finance. He worked for General Motors Acceptance Corporation and Douglas Aircraft Corporation before joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma in 1945. He held various positions there rising to Executive Vice President at his retirement in 1981. He was a member and past president of National Office Management Association, and a member and officer of The Tulsa Toastmasters Club. He was also a member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club, the Tulsa Farm Club and a corporate representative to the Downtown Chamber of Commerce. He was elected "Boss of the Year" by the American Business Women's Association and was listed in Who's Who in Tulsa, Who's Who in Finance and Industry and Who's Who in America and received the Hall of Fame Award for an Oklahoma School of Accountancy graduate. He was a strong Christian, a Charter Member of Christ Methodist Church of Tulsa and lived a life of service. In retirement he continued his outreach activities by delivering Meals on Wheels and ministering to individuals he met on a daily basis. He will be missed. His family was extremely important to him; he often called his children and grandchildren his "pride and joy". He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ramona White of Tulsa; son, Rick White and wife BJ of Dallas; daughter, Diane Young and husband Glenn of Tulsa; grandchildren, Holly Polf and husband Jerimy of Houston; Ryan White and Tyler White, both of Dallas; brother, Robert Hampton and wife Norma Helen of Tulsa; niece Karen Hampton of Tulsa; and nephew, Larry Hampton of Houston. Visitation will be all day Tuesday, May 28, 2007 from 8am-8pm at Ninde Funeral home at 5757 S. Memorial. The funeral service is scheduled at 2pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2007 at Christ United Methodist Church at 3515 S. Harvard with internment at Memorial Park Cemetery afterwards. In lieu of flowers Dallas asked that donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
