Venola Weinberg Cooley, 89, died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Maplewood Care Center in Tulsa. Mrs. Cooley was born July 31, 1928 in Ballenger, Texas the daughter of Virgil and Mary Ellen (Morriss) Weinberg, Sr.. She attended school in Borger, Texas where she graduated from High School. She trained to be a Radiological Technologist at Harris Hospital and Harris Clinic in Ft. Worth, Texas. She became the Head Tech from 1941 to 1948 at the Harris Hospital. Mrs. Cooley was a member of the American Registry of Radiological Technologists. She married Herbert M. Cooley in 1949 who preceded her in death in 1977. After their marriage they moved to Tulsa where they made their home. She was a charter member of the Tulsa AIME wives club formerly the Tulsa Engineers Society Auxiliary, the Green Country Quilters Guild of Tulsa, the Oklahoma Quilters State Organization, Inc. and the American Quilters Association. She was a member of the Southside Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship. Her husband was one of the original 15 founders of the Tulsa Petroleum Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother John Arthur Weinberg. She is survived by her lifelong friend, Dr. Joseph Salamy. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 6th at the Floral Haven Cemetery, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave.
