Obituary of Pauline Russell

Please share a memory of Pauline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed away in the early morning hours on August 16 quietly in her home just two months short of her 100th birthday. Devoted daughter, loving wife, nurturing mother, accepting grandmother, beloved great-grandmother, treasured great-great grandmother. She was born to Glen and Bess Allen on October 14, 1907 in Independence, Kansas. Married to Murl Burnworth in 1926 and raised two wonderful daughters, Deania and Jean. She moved to Tulsa in 1978 to be near her family. Pauline will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving, caring and giving person. She took care of her people all her life. She was feisty, and funny, and always available to comfort and support her loved ones, all of us. She loved a bit of 'special' eggnog at Christmas, and was known to sneak a cigarette in the bathroom from time to time. She loved to watch and cheer for the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Braves. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ethel, her first husband Murl, her second husband Rusty Russell, and her son-in-law and friend Calvin Rodgers. She is survived by her daughters Deania Rodgers and Jean Vann; grandchildren Dr. James Rodgers and his wife Alice, Paula Patterson and her husband Russ, Pam Montgomery, Karen Shumake and her husband Shawn, Crystal Ray and her husband Stewart; great grandchildren Chad Rodgers and his wife Lindsay, Hunter Rodgers, Lindsay Davis and her husband Jake, Michael Patterson and his wife Anne, and Nathan, Teagan and Madison Ray; and great-great grandchildren Maryn and Marlee Rodgers. Pauline loved and was truly and completely loved by us all. She was a person who lived and loved on this earth and made it a far better place. She gave something to all of us, everyday that she had the ability, without ever thinking of herself. Sometimes in life we are graced with a chance to share our life with a person like Pauline, we all know we have been blessed by God for having had her in our lives. We all want to express our sincere and heartfelt appreciation for our friends at Saint Francis Hospice for their guidance and compassion during our journey. Funeral servive10:00 a.m. Friday, Ninde Brookside Chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, KS. Ninde Brookside Chapel, (918) 742-5556.
