Obituary of Hubert Leak

Mr. Hurbert Leak, age 79, longtime resident of Tulsa died Thursday in St. Francis Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Ninde Woodland Chapel with Dr. William Tankersly, Jr. of the Boston Avenue United Metodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Leak was born on September 10, 1926 in Hickory Creek, Arkansas to Marion and Grace (Secor) Leak. Moving to Tulsa with his family at the age 15. After graduation from high school he enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Korean conflict in the infantry division. He and Vesta Dugger were united in marriage on March 4, 1966 in Tulsa and have made thier home here since. He retired from AT&T in 1988. Survivors include his wife Vesta of the home, a twin brother Herbert and his wife Helen Leak of Wagoner, another brother John and his wife Johnny Leak of Seligman, Missouri, sister Lola Fawn Standlee of Houston, Texas, 2 step daughters, Linda and her husband Leland Murphy of Austin, Texas, Karen and her husband Jim Kidd of Tulsa, 4 step grandchildren Lori Watts of Tulsa, Jason Watts of Manhattan, Kansas, Scott Murphy of Dallas, Texas and Trisha Murphy of Austin, Texas, 3 nieces and nephews.
