Gwendolyn I. "Gwen" Ashwill was born October 6, 1917 in Tulsa to Ira and Gladys (Castor) Pilcher. She passed from this life Thursday, October 6, 2005 at the age of 88 years.

Gwen attended Tulsa schools and the Oklahoma School of Buiness. She married Melvin L. Ashwill on September 3, 1948. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and past-president of the Tulsa Insurance Women's Association. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Melvin; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Nino Pilcher; nieces, Michele Fruits and her husband, Terry, Kelly Peterson and her husband, Kirk; nephew, Dan Pilcher and his wife Emily; seven great nieces and nephews, Paige and Alex Fruits, Katie, Kristen and Kalvin Peterson, Grace and Sophie Pilcher.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Ninde Woodland Funeral Home. Funeral service 10:30 AM Monday at First Presbyterian Church. Graveside committal will follow at Memorial Park cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 709 S.
