Obituary of Samuel Emery

Samuel Walter Emery III, (Sam), 63, died Sunday, March 23, 2008. Sam was born January 5, 1945 in Duncan, Oklahoma to his parents Samuel Walter and Edwina (Thompson) Emery Jr. Retired, Sam most recently was owner of The Golden Cue. He had formerly worked as an insurance agent with AIG. He attended OU, and was a graduate of the University of Tulsa. He had been a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and had been involved with Toastmasters International. Sam was also a former member of the Tulsa Country Club. Sam is survived by sister, Gayle Emery and her husband, Jim Patrick, of Hendersonville, NC, and sister, Mary Chace, and her husband, Nate, of Riverside, RI., three nieces, three nephews, and a great-niece and a great-nephew. His memorial service will be held at Ninde Woodland Chapel Saturday, March 29, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery at 51st St. and Memorial. The family will greet friends afterwards at the Memorial Park Living Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. John Medical Center Foundation at 1923 S.
