He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Elaine Hall, one grandson, Brandon Price Hall, and son-in-law, Stephen M. Earlier in his life, he had served as an elder and treasurer. Jay graduated from high school in Muskogee, OK. He completed several semesters of college studies, and worked with his father drilling oil wells in the early days of the oil industry in Oklahoma. He married Rachel Edwards on September 1, 1940. He served in the U.S. Air Force in WWII as an aircraft maintenance and repair instructor, and worked for a time with McDonnell Douglas Company in Tulsa. He then joined the Oklahoma Employment Service and remained with that organization for 37 years, serving in Muskogee, Pryor, Poteau and Oklahoma City, OK. During this period he managed the office in Poteau until 1962, held various managerial positions with the Service in Oklahoma City, and was Assistant Metropolitan Manager for the Oklahoma City offices. He retired from the Oklahoma Employment Service in 1979, and he and his wife Rachel returned to Poteau. Rachel passed away on May 14, 1986, and Jay continued to live in Poteau until October 2003, when he moved to Silver Arrow Estates in Broken Arrow, OK to be closer to his family.
