Jay Berlin Price was born December 15, 1914 in Muskogee, OK, son of Ernest and Daisy Price. He left us on October 12, 2005 in Broken Arrow, OK. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Elaine Hall, one grandson, Brandon Price Hall, and son-in-law, Stephen M. Hall, of Tulsa, OK, and three sisters, Margaret Price and Ernestine Farley of Muskogee, OK and Katherine Smith of Lawton, OK. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Poteau, OK. Earlier in his life, he had served as an elder and treasurer. Jay graduated from high school in Muskogee, OK. He completed several semesters of college studies, and worked with his father drilling oil wells in the early days of the oil industry in Oklahoma. He married Rachel Edwards on September 1, 1940. He served in the U.S. Air Force in WWII as an aircraft maintenance and repair instructor, and worked for a time with McDonnell Douglas Company in Tulsa. He then joined the Oklahoma Employment Service and remained with that organization for 37 years, serving in Muskogee, Pryor, Poteau and Oklahoma City, OK. During this period he managed the office in Poteau until 1962, held various managerial positions with the Service in Oklahoma City, and was Assistant Metropolitan Manager for the Oklahoma City offices. He retired from the Oklahoma Employment Service in 1979, and he and his wife Rachel returned to Poteau. Rachel passed away on May 14, 1986, and Jay continued to live in Poteau until October 2003, when he moved to Silver Arrow Estates in Broken Arrow, OK to be closer to his family. Jay will be forever remembered by his family as a loving father, grandfather and father-in-law full of wit, love of family and generosity and a man who lived life to the fullest. He will be truly missed in many ways by all who knew him. Services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Muskogee, OK at 2:00pm. on October 14, 2005.
