Obituary of Kathleen Coday

Kathleen Coday was born April 19, 1919 in Burkburnett, Texas the daughter of August and Jewell Kuehl. She completed this life on October 24, 2011 at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 5 days. The family later moved to Pampa, Texas where Kathleen grew up and graduated from Pampa High School. While still a girl, she was baptized at the MaryEllen and Harvester Street Church of Christ. She married Ernest Jesse "Ernie" Coday on November 4, 1940 in Sayre, Oklahoma. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where their sons William T. "Bill" and Ernest Jesse "E.J." Coday, Jr. were born. Ernie and Kathleen became involved with the 10th and Rockford Church of Christ in Tulsa in 1946 where they were active members until their death. They were particularly active in Bible class work. She worked for a time in the family business, Coday and company, but her real career was housewife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. After Ernie's retirement, they traveled often with a group of friends in motor homes to fishing camps in Mexico and other places around the country. She was preceded in death by her parents, a younger brother, Billy Joe Kuehl, her great granddaughter, Sarah Christine Methvin, as well as her husband Ernie. Kathleen is survived by one brother, Richard Kuehl and his wife Janie of Booker, Texas and one sister, Mary Jean Mitchell and her husband J.L. of Amarillo, Texas and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sons, Bill and his wife Carolyn of Tulsa and E.J. Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Claremore, OK; her five grandchildren and her eleven great Grandchildren.
