James Leroy Couch, 79, of Luther, Oklahoma formerly of Tulsa, died on Thursday July 17, 2008. He was born January 10, 1929 in Chouteau, Oklahoma the son of James Lyhugh and Susan Aileen (Haynes)Couch. Mr. Couch served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Feberal Deposit Insurance Corporation where he worked as a bank examiner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Lee(Moffett)Couch on April 11, 2006. He is survived by his daughters: Janet Wiard and her husband Warren of Edmond, OK and Judy Tiffin and her husband David of Katy, Texas; his son: Michael McRee and his wife Sheri of Maiden, North Carolina; sisters: Donna Long and her husband Dale of Oologah, OK and Lola Slinkard of Chouteau, OK; his six grandchildren: Jennifer, Travis, Matt, Megan, Andria and Alex; and three great grandchildren. There will be no viewing at the funeral home. Viewing will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the graveside. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Chouteau (North) Cemetery.
