Obituary of Cecelia Lewis

Lewis, Cecelia C. "Pat" Kaufman, 83, went to that "Better Place" on Sunday, July 20, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Born October 6, 1924 in Louisburg, Kansas to William and Iona (McCoy) Kaufman. After Louisburg high school graduation, she went with Aunt Eileen to Westbury Long Island, NY to assist with her children. Upon her return to Kansas, she worked with Pratt-Witney Aviation, & then to TWA, where she became a flight attendant. It was there that Pat & that dental student Gene met. It was truly, "Love at first sight". Especially Gene said "She was so beautiful" and her smile was so big and captivating. Pat and Gene returned to Tulsa, & married June 24, 1950. Pat and Gene had a beautiful life together. They just celebrated their 58th anniversary in 2008. They were blessed with 3 wonderful children, Stan Lewis, Beverly Lewis, & Rhonda Breaux. Pat was very active caring wife and mother. She planted flower gardens with love, bowled, played golf, cooked, was a choir and Bluebird's mom. She was active with Tulsa Dental Auxiliary, Brookside Lion Tamers, TWA clipped wings, Miss Oklahoma Pageant hostess, Tulsa Mrs. Club, & more. Survived by 1 brother, Kenneth Kaufman and wife Betty, 1 sister, Evelyn Bell and husband Jerold, all of Paola, KS & many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Also survived by husband, Dr. Gene Lewis, daughter, Beverly Lewis, Son Stan Lewis, daughter, Rhonda Breaux and husband Jerry, & grandchildren Tyler and Nathan Breaux, all of Tulsa & Elizabeth Lewis of Bryan, Texas. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, that contributions in her memory be made to, The Good Shepherd Hospice, & Alzheimer's Association of Tulsa. The family wants to thank the staffs at The Cottage & Brighton gardens, & a special caregiver & friend, Tammy Mylen. A memorial service will be held in her honor at Ninde Brookside Chapel on Friday, Aug. 1st at 3:00 p.m. (38th & Peoria).
