Kathy was one of those special people who made you feel good, even if she felt bad. I remember when she got back from Vegas and showed me her pink ribbon tattoo. It was her "I beat it!" badge. Even when cancer returned, she was always optimistic, no matter how bad she felt. She was a survivor, and I believe that all of those fluffs that she helped were kindred spirits. I know she got quite a welcome coming over that Rainbow Bridge - reuniting with those furbabies she loved unconditionally. I will always picture Kathy sitting on the floor at the clinic, with whichever fluff was the most traumatized. She would be cuddling and speaking softly to them, and they would look at her with trust and love. It takes a special person to help heal a broken spirit, and Kathy was that person. I will miss her always, but I know I will see her again. Much love to Steve - you know you will always be a part of our Small Paws family. Brent & Lynne Bates and The Bates Bichon Brigade
