Please share a memory of Lara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Petitt, Lara Elizabeth, age 27, took the hand of our heavenly Father to enter the golden gates of heaven on Saturday, January 14, 2006. Lara was a devoted Mother and an employee of MetGames in Tulsa. Lara was born on Friday, September 1, 1978. Lara attended Sand Springs Public Schools and attended TCC. Lara graduated from Charles Page High School in 1997. Lara was happy go lucky and could make a room full of people laugh just by being herself. She was always the first to arrive if someone else needed help. At age 4 she began the hobby that she loved, dance lessons at the Patti Parrish Dance Studio in Sapulpa. She was a member of the Patti Parrish Dance Company and continued dancing there through high school. Among other things, Lara was member of the Charles Page High School Dance Team and a cheerleader. Lara loved to travel and was blessed with a job that allowed her to fly to places that she may have never seen. Lara had been a member of East Tulsa Christian Church. Lara was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes on April 1, 1987 and devoted a lot of her early years visiting newly diagnosed diabetic children in the hospital to enlighten them about "life after diabetes". But, the joy of Lara's short life was her beautiful daughter, Noa Elizabeth. Lara was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Hall, of Tulsa and her half brother, Mike Petitt, of Sapulpa. She is survived by her 31/2 year old daughter, Noa; her mother and step-father Andrea and Ron Duerksen, of Coweta, OK; her father, Roy Petitt, of Sand Springs; 1 brother whom she adored, Lance Petitt and his wonderful wife, Stephanie, of Coweta, OK; 2 half sisters, Teresa Etheridge, of Sapulpa and Darla Stewart, of Bristow, OK and her best friend and companion, Gary Watkins, of Tulsa; grandpa, Lenward Hall, of Tulsa, grandmother, Pairlee Duerksen, of Cordell, OK; grandparents, C.
