As you pass through life God places people in your path that shape and give meaning to your life. My Mamaw was that person. She has always been a best friend, a mentor, and adviser as well as being my strength in difficult times. She has lived a beautiful life. She has seen so much and dealt with such loss and heartache, that she always amazed me with her strength and courage. When I felt down, or was going through a difficult time, all I had to do was look at her and I realized how small my problems were. She is the essence of God’s love, and has always been His good and faithful servant. She never had harsh words or gossip to speak of others, and would be there to lift you up. I am so much better as a person having known her and been showered by her love. I only hope to be half the person she was and live a life as well lived as hers. It is rare to have a grandparent be a best friend but I can truly say she was to me. I love you Mamaw.
