Obituary of Charles Phelps

Charles Aaron Phelps was born September 15, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Carl Edward and Madge Aline (Marshall) Phelps. Charles passed from this life December 15, 2008 at the age of 73. Before taking early retirement, Aaron worked for McDonnell-Douglas for 16 years as an illustrative engineer. He also enjoyed woodworking, cooking and gardening. But his main joy in life was his family. Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Lourene (Conway) Phelps of the home; his daughters, Vanessa and her husband Terry Whiteley and Patricia Bonham, all of Catoosa, Oklahoma; his sister and her husband, Judy & Jarrell Pell; his brother and his wife, Donald and Ethelene Phelps; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Shupe, Joshua Whiteley, Alyssa Bonham, Mallory Bonham and Kaylen Bonham; and his great grandchildren, Ethan Shupe, Tanner Shupe, and Madison Bonham. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as, his family in Christ, co-workers, classmates and his family at Good Shepherd Hospice. Family visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Southeast Freewill Baptist Church, 1801 S.
