Edwin Dee Andrews, 81, our beloved, caring, generous father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma due to complications from an accident. Ed was born on August 16, 1924 in Grove, Oklahoma the son of Albert Sidney and Ida Orpha (Lankford) Andrews. He was the youngest of five children including Richard Andrews (deceased), Robert Andrews (Greenville, Texas), Joseph Andrews (Deceased) and Bonnie Redels (Lubbock, TX). Ed was the 1942 Valedictorian of Grove High School and earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1948. He served in the US Army as a part of Company G, 291st Regiment, 75th Infantry Division and fought valiantly in Europe during the Battle of the Bulge. He married Judy Ann Webb on October 1, 1954. Ed worked for 42 years as a sales engineer for General Electric, retiring in 1991. In his retirement, he was active in his church, and as an avid runner and golfer. We cherish the laughs, the holiday gatherings, and his awful cooking, which we were able to share with him for many years. He is survived by four children, their spouses and eleven grandchildren.
