Obituary of Dorothy Hix

Dorothy Alice (Leinweber) Hix was born July 9, 1923 in Beatrice, NE, and went to be with her heavenly Father January 25, 2009. "Dot" was raised on a ranch near Frankfort, Kansas by her father, Carl Eugene Leinweber, and mother, Frances Alice Elliott. While attending nursing school in Denver in 1943 she met and later married M. Hart Hix. After raising her family Dot attended the University of Tulsa and received degrees in Sociology in 1973 and Nursing in 1976. She was a psychiatric nurse at several hospitals in Tulsa. She finally retired at the age of 80. Her three great loves were Hart, Tulsa University and her gardens. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three sisters, Maxine, Rosanna and Jean. She is survived by her sister, Lois Rosander of Nisland, SD, brother Carl Leinweber of Frankfort, KS, three daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Al McGeehan of Holland, MI, Patricia and Michael Barham of Owasso, and Carla and Michael Aldrich of Broken Arrow, 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 31 at Ninde Chapel at 38th and Peoria.
