Obituary of Mildred Moody

MOODY -- Mildred LoRayne (Nichols), 78, went to her eternal resting place on Tuesday, March 7, 2006. She was born June 24, 1927 in Muskogee, OK to Porter and Catherine (Ogle) Nichols. She was a member of Memorial Christian Church in Tulsa. She married Ernest Luther Moody Jr. on November 10, 1948 in Tulsa. Mildred was a sweet, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The world is a kinder, more gentle place because of the sweetness and joy she brought to everyone she touched. She and her husband, Ernest co-founded Moody's Jewelry in November of 1944. They worked side by side to bring love and happiness to friends and customers while building a well respected business in the Tulsa community. Mildred is survived by her 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, who all adored her. They are Ernest Moody III and his wife, Rhonda and their children, Melissa Moody and Brian and Jason Scott, all of Tulsa; Kevin and Veronica Moody and their daughter, Michelle, all of Tulsa; Melinda Moody Claiborne and her children, Ryan and Megan, all of Tulsa; Patricia Moody Kaltenbach, Ted Kaltenbach and their children, Kyle, Adam, Andrew and Alyson and their grandson, Kyle, all of Tulsa; and Emily Moody Boyd of Tulsa, her daughter, Audrey of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by her brother, Bud Nichols and his wife, Marilyn of Plano, TX; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by: her husband of 40 years, Ernest, in 1989; parents, Porter and Catherine Nichols; brother, Roland Nichols; sister, Eileen Butler; son-in-law, Clyde Alva "Trey" Boyd; and her grandson, Tyler Joseph Moody. The Family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the Charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 5-8 on Thursday. Committal Prayers and interment will be at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Celebration of her life will be at 11:00 a.m. in the Asbury United Methodist Church. There will be a luncheon following that friends are invited to.
