Obituary of C. Tate

Please share a memory of C. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In our hearts forever, but gone from this earth, David passed away on April 18 with his family at his side. His parents, Dorothy & JC, his son Jim, and his nephew, Matt Monahan met him at Heaven's door with open arms. Born in Okmulgee on November 1, 1947, David spent his adult life in the Tulsa area. He was a graduate of Rogers HS and attended TU. He retired as Vice President/Land from Weinkauf Petroleum after 42 years in the energy business. David began work at Apache when he was 17 and it was there that he met Don Weinkauf who became his mentor. David's love of the oil industry was a result of Don's influence and guidance. He was active in the TAPL (past President), AAPL, Okla City Landman Association and OERB. He also served on the Board of the Petroleum Club of Tulsa. David loved to ride his motorcycles and golf. He always looked forward to being with his golf buddies and they were very much a part of his life to the end. Their continued support is appreciated. David loved the adventure on his motorcycles. Many good times were shared on the "trike" with Anita or on a ride with Kent Harrell. Kent was his "brother" and they shared a mutual respect for each other. Our family will forever be grateful for the love, care, and support Kent has given all us during this time. Those feeling this loss are his wife, Anita; his children Ron (Stella) and Beth Wagner-Watts (Gary); his grandchildren (Eliza, Ray, Jackie, Charlie, Parker, Paige and Preston); his sister, Elizabeth Ross (Ken); his niece, Mary Monahan; his 2 great nieces and his 3 great nephews as well as everyone who knew him. There will be a family visitation Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home with a funeral service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Asbury United Methodist Church with final interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests that donations be made to the Tulsa S.P.C.A., 2910 Mohawk Blvd, Tulsa, OK 74110 Ninde Brookside 918.742.5556 www.ninde.com
