Obituary of Doris Lantz

Lantz, Doris Pierce, 89, formerly of Houston, TX, passed from this life in Tulsa, OK on Sunday, April 19, 2009. She was born on January 6, 1920 in Lindale, TX to Cader and Winnie Davis Pierce. Doris was a graduate of North Texas State Teacher's College and taught elementary school in the Houston Public Schools for over 30 years. In 1996 she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harry Lantz. Doris, leaving her lifelong friends in Houston, moved to Inverness Village in Tulsa during 2005. She had a lively, engagingly positive personality and enjoyed going with her friends to concerts, the opera and museums in Tulsa. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and having new experiences. All this is true and describes her well, but together, add up to so much less than the whole person she was. She had a special love for her three grandchildren, Justin Lantz, of New York City, Meredith Lantz, of London, England, and Elianna Lantz, of Portland, Maine. She is also survived by three sons, Gordon Lantz and his wife, Linda Goldenstern, of Tulsa, OK, Ronald Lantz and his wife, Elizabeth, of Portland, ME and Leonard Lantz, of Austin, TX.
