Obituary of Nick K. Stavros

Nick K. Stavros, 80, of Tulsa, OK, a long time Tulsa resident, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2015. Mr. Stavros was born December 4, 1934 in Athens, Greece. Nick met Jane, who became his wife, while both were attending classes in Kansas. They were married July 16, 1960 and began their family. In the years to follow Nick and Jane founded Metro Builders Supply which has become known as Metro Appliances and More. Both Nick and Jane were active members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and supporters of St. Antony Orthodox Church. Nick is survived by his loving family; his daughters, Stephanie Stavros Guinn and her husband Steve of Morrilton, AR and Tina Stavros Morton and her husband Rusty of Oklahoma City; his son, John Stavros and his wife Rebecca Jones Stavros of Collinsville, OK; his grandchildren, Allison Nicole Deaton, Audrey Riley Morton, Elizabeth Janell Stavros, Nicholas John Stavros, Ashley Guinn Moore, Jacob Stavros Guinn and Alexandra Jane Guinn; his brother and sister-in-law Chris and Helen Stavropolous and Vashaleki Stavropolous, both of Athens, Greece. Nick is also survived by many nieces and nephews from California to Athens, Greece. As well as many dear friends.
Our family would like to lovingly thank Shirley Cooper Doral. Thank you Dr. John Hubner, MD and the many considerate people who cared for our father from Reasors Pharmacy to the EMT's on duty Monday morning and the emergency room team at St. John's Hospital, Owasso.
Trisagion prayers will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ninde Funeral Home Chapel at 39th & Peoria. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, our family would like to suggest memorial offerings be made to either the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Stavros Learning Center, 1222 S. Guthrie, Tulsa, OK 74119 or St. Antony Orthodox Church Building Restoration Project, 2645 East 6th Street, Tulsa, OK 74104.
